IT Technical Specialist

Robert Michael Communications, Inc., an administrative company offering shared services to an independent medical education company and two full-service medical communications companies, is seeking an experienced Information Technology (IT) Technical Specialist. This position is responsible for supporting and optimizing company systems and network hardware.  The office is located in Voorhees, New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. Due to COVID-19, the company is currently working in a remote environment.


  • Maintain cloud applications and infrastructure/systems using Microsoft 365 (M365), Microsoft Azure.
  • Maintain, configure, and act as host/producer for virtual meetings using platforms like Zoom, MS Teams, Adobe Connect.
  • Help Desk Responsibilities for computer/printer/fax/telephone equipment and security system as follows:
  • Respond and resolve Help Desk Requests as assigned by supervisor within the designated time frame
  • Keep supervisor informed of problems or delays as they arise in the handling of Help Desk requests
  • Maintain records of issues handled and what action was taken
  • Provide IT network support relating to software and hardware problems reported by users
  • Configure and install computers and telephones for new and existing employees
  • Train employees on phones and network access (internal and remote)
  • Install and troubleshoot new peripherals, accessories, and software as needed
  • Determine the integrity of installed software applications, coordinating assistance from third party vendors when necessary
  • Work with System Administrator and Network Support team to properly maintain, optimize company’s network and applications
  • Serve as backup for the following tasks as needed:
    • Security System:  badge creation, camera operation and software monitoring
    • Network Management: connectivity issues, switches/wiring, cable modem/DSL, logon script, desktop-laptop management, User ID & Mailbox creation and management


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science from four-year college or university with at least 2 years of experience; or 3-to-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • IT Help Desk experience
  • Experience training employees in person and remotely
  • Ability to install and troubleshoot new peripherals, accessories, and software as needed
  • Independently analyze and solve problems
  • Capable of thinking critically and adapting quickly to ensure work is done accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
